like the CRM marketplace a decade ago, a lot of silo applications with no clear
market leader that is ripe for a shake-up. In the CRM market an upstart (Siebel)
was allowed to grow and dominate the space before ERP vendors began to fight
back. Ventana Research believes it will be harder for this to happen in the
innovation management technology market. Instead, the battle will be between
two industry titans: Microsoft and SAP.
